Selling for £1350 when it goes on sale on, the UnitiQute is a complete all-in-one system in a neat Hi-Cap size non-resonant case.
It can receive FM, DAB and internet radio, stream music from UPnP network storage, PCs or Macs, connect digitally to iPods or play music from MP3 players or USB memory sticks. In fact all that's missing is the Uniti's CD player!

Monitor audio unveil their new range of satellite speakers.

The awesome Apex range come in 2 different flavours.
the A10 & A40 are smaller speakers similar in size to their Radius 90HD & Radius 180HD speakers. Both models are supplied with wall brackets.

The A10 is an ultra-compact sat for use as an audiophile mini-monitor or as part of the larger system with 25mm gold dome tweeter with magnetic shielding.

Arcam go Back to the Old Skool

DAC Coming Soon

Arcam is in the process of developing a new standalone DAC.
It is expected to have USB, optical and coaxial digital connections, and a mains on/off switch on the back.

The little silver button on the top should allow you to toggle between the different inputs.

The DAC is expected to go on sale in the next couple of months for around £299.

The Arcam AVR500 sits just below the multi award winning Arcam AVR600 and delivers a new level of performance to this market.

The AVR500 uses much of the ultra high performance circuitry of the highly successful AVR 600 but with a reduced feature set to reflect the trend to predominantly use digital connections in the most modern installs. The AVR500 boasts very high performance due to extremely accurate DSP and very low distortion power amplifiers, each rated at 100wpc.

It also incorporates video transcoding from component to HDMI, HDMI 1.3a dual output video switching and Dolby Volume gain processing. It can serve two different zones at once and as well as an FM/AM radio tuner with 100 presets there will also be an optional DAB radio module.

The M6CD/DAC is the latest evolution of MF’s high performance digital range. It has a very high quality 24-bit 192K true upsampling DAC which has outstanding linearity, ultra low noise, very low distortion and ruler flat frequency response!

The M6CD/DAC is a very high quality DAC as well as being a CD player. To maximize the capabilities of the the M6 CD, MF have added 3 extra digital inputs so it can be used as a very high quality DAC as well. It has inputs for USB, coax and optical.

Internally the M6i is actually a separate preamp with two monobloc power amps. The M6i has one huge mains transformer which gives entirely separate outputs for left and right power amps and preamps. Even though the M6i is a one box solution it’s actually a set of discreet monobloc power amps with a separate preamp in one sleek package.
Due to its excellent practical linearity, low distortion and excellent load driving ability the M6i can be paired with pretty much any loudspeaker. NEW PROAC LOUDSPEAKERS

Response D1 & Response D18 Loudspeakers

 

Response D1

For many years the Response 1SC has been one of the world’s leading mini monitors but now the D1 has stolen its crown. High tech improvements have been made to the cabinet, bass driver, and crossover network.

The cabinet baffle is slimmer to aid dispersion, and now has a special damping material making the cabinet very heavy and inert.
The all-new bass driver is now on a ProAc chassis, this has a raised spider and similar cone material to the D2. It also features the EXCEL magnet system and a new acrylic damping phase plug.

Further improvements have been made to the crossover network. The results are a punchier bass, richer more open midrange, with sweet and detailed high frequencies. The D1 is also 1.5 dB more efficient than the 1SC making it easier to drive for those who have amplifiers with a lower output.

Response D18

Further improvements have been made again with the cabinet, bass driver and crossover network.
The cabinet on the D18 is very heavily damped with a new material; it is also now side vented as other high-end models in the ProAc range.

A new high tech bass driver is similar to the D2, it however has a larger EXCEL magnet assembly and an acrylic damping phase plug.

The results of these combination of improvements are a deep beautifully controlled bass response, a fast electrostatic midrange with a sweet and detailed high frequency.

NEW CHORD COMPANY INTERCONNECTS

 

New Signet Interconnect 

This cable’s suggested retail price is £495 for a 1m pair, and offers virtually the same performance as the now discontinued Signature Interconnect
(which were £550 for a 1m pair)

New Signature Plus Interconnect

The Signature Interconnect cable has now been upgraded to the Signature Plus. This cable’s suggested retail price is £725 for a 1m pair. It uses the same basic platform as the Signet and old Signature interconnect but has an additional silver plated Copper, Teflon insulated return conductor and Acrylic Indigo style RCA plugs.

These improvements in construction and plugs provide a dramatic musical improvement over the old Signature and new Signet.

New Indigo Plus Interconnect

The most striking feature of the new Chord Indigo RCA, is the unique machined acrylic plug casing. More than just a beautiful object, the plug casing is made from specially chosen acrylic plastic that has truly outstanding vibration damping properties. Precision machined to an exacting tolerance from bonded solid acrylic block and diamond polished, the plug casing shrouds an ultra low mass, silver-plated earth connection and is toleranced to damp any resonances.

The Puccini, the Paganini, and the Scarlatti.

Beginning with the Puccini CD / SACD – “a high end system in one box”, which combines the upsampling, DAC and clocking which make dCS the leaders in their field. Match this with the easy set-up and you have a stunning player which offers unbeatable performance!

The dCS design philosophy behind their Paganini range was to build a system as close as possible in performance to the reference Scarlatti, but to make it more accessible.
Paganini Transport is intended to be used with the matching Paganini DAC or with any suitable industry standard DAC. The unit may be run in Master mode or by using the DAC as the system clock. Performance will be enhanced further by adding the Paganini Clock to the system.
Simply put, the 3 box Paganini system is a revelation. So come in and have a listen now.

The same high engineering standards and electronics are common throughout the dCS product ranges, however they reach their zenith with the 3 box Scarlatti system. NAIM AUDIO SUPERLINE

Salisbury’s finest, Naim Audio have finally launched their long-awaited SuperLine phono stage - and a brand new mains cable.

After being on the verge of being launched at various shows, the Super-Line will finally hit the shops in March.

Powered from one of Naim’s own amplifiers  (NAC252 or NAC552) or one of their dedicated power supplies (Hi-Cap/SuperCap), the SuperLine uses a three-stage active phono engine for optimum results with moving coil cartridges, and offers up to 20 cartridge loading options using four resistive and three capacitive load plugs!

Isolation is provided by a spring-mounted 4.4kg brass sub-chassis, and the unit has both balanced and phono inputs.

The good news is that all this techy info distills down to an amazing sound.

Naim Audio Powerline IEC Mains Lead

Obviously on a roll at the moment, Naim have also introduced their own in-house mains lead, which was developed over hundreds of hours R&D, experimentation and listening.

The 13A plug and the IEC connector have floating pins and cable clamping, while the attention to detail extends to rounded ends to the set-screws used to clamp the cable to the pins.

Vinyl Replay Event in Edinburgh

Loud & Clear Edinburgh would like you to join them for a day of vinyl heaven in conjunction with the wonderful chaps at Diverse Vinyl (regulars at the Scottish Hi-Fi shows), and Abbey Road Cables.
