The property developer

This project was undertaken on behalf of a well known Glasgow property developer. The original brief was to add to the already “high spec” of the development by providing music throughout the house as well as a number of TVs.

In addition to this we were asked to create a high impact dedicated plasma based cinema room. Performance as well as a discrete installation were priorities on this project. The cinema equipment was all hidden within a central coffee table, with a remote control IR system coming back to this point. The 50” Pioneer plasma display was also recessed into the solid walnut panelling at the front of the room.

The bulk of the multi-room equipment was located in a “comms” room situated in the basement of the house, with a 19” equipment rack containing a CD hard drive music server as well as a number of radio tuners. The client’s music can easily be stored on the hard drive which has a permanent internet connection to access album artwork and track listings.

Music is then replayed through in-ceiling speakers throughout the house, with control via small keypads in each room. Music is also available in the garden and on the upstairs decking – via Tannoy outdoor speakers.
